Open Your Heart
Opening your heart for Valentine’s Day
“Love must always create sunshine, filling the heart so full of radiance that it over flows upon the out-ward world.” Nathaniel Hawthorne
Whether you have a significant other or not, it is fun to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The heart is the main symbol for Valentine’s Day. The heart chakra is an important element on this day. Whether you are single or not, it is important that your heart chakra is open to have healthy and happy relationships in your life. We have 7 chakras in our body. The heart chakra is the 4th chakra. The heart chakra is not actually located where our heart is but rather in the center of our chest. It is the color green but an open heart chakra that radiates high energy will change from green to pink.
A blocked heart chakra is generally caused by negative and sad experiences with love. It could stem from dysfunctional relationships from childhood to a bad breakup. An unbalanced heart chakra can cause low self-esteem, issues with love, the need to control your mate, lack of trust in your mate and fear of being abandoned by your significant other. Allow yourself to be loved. You deserve it. Self-love is important and try to accept yourself for who you are! If you do not love yourself, it is hard to love others.
There are several ways to open your heart chakra. You can do this using essential oils, Reiki, meditation, affirmations and stones & crystals. Since the heart chakra is generally green, it can help to get out in nature. Why not take a nature walk to open this chakra?
Crystals and stones that help open the heart chakra are: rose quartz and jade. Keep them on your desk. Hold onto them during a Reiki or meditation session.
Essential Oils that help the heart chakra open are Rose oil, ylang ylang, geranium and bergamot. Use these while meditating and during a healing energy session.
Visualization and meditation also helps open your heart chakra.
Go to a quiet area. If you can, light a pink or green candle. I recommend listening to relaxation music. Hilary Stagg cd/mp3 Dream Spiral and Feather light are good choices for music and can be found on Amazon.com
Here is a great heart chakra meditation:
Envision a bright green light glowing in your heart chakra region.
Take a deep breath in.
Breath in love, peace and tranquility.
As you continue to breath deep and slowly exhale, say the following mantra 3 times:
“I am worthy of love, I attract love and I deserve the love that people give me.”
Now image your heart center turning a vibrant shade of pink. Keep breathing in slowly and exhaling slowly and calmly. Repeat the following mantra 3 times:
“I will let go of any fears that hold me back with love. I am letting go of past hurt and any disappointments with love. I am attracting positive vibrations and I attract healthy relationships and abundance into my life.”
Keep imaging your heart chakra open and unblocked. Keep visualizing the bright pink light in your chest area.
The following yoga poses help open the heart chakra: 1. Upward Facing Dog Pose 2. Camel Pose 3. Wheel Pose and 4. Bow Pose. You can google them to see the picture and instructions on how to do the poses. They are fairly easy to do. Sit quietly on your mat before doing the poses. Say the Mantra: “My heart is open and I accept healthy love in my life. I am deserving.” The yoga poses will activate your heart chakra and open it even more. Try to practice them daily or at least once a week.
